High-uniformity dome illumination for reflective, uneven and edge-notch inspection
LXV-3DM uses a hemispherical diffuse-reflection structure to provide a large, high-uniformity field over uneven and reflective objects. Its lightweight frame-fixed construction distributes mounting force around the flange, while four 24 V standard sizes support IC characters, condenser surfaces and a documented IR850 plastic-cup edge-notch application.

Reflective and uneven surfaces
Use hemispherical diffusion to reduce local hotspots over changing slopes.
IC surface characters
Create a uniform field for marks and characters on reflective packages.
Condenser surface defects
Reveal defects across curved or uneven condenser surfaces.
Plastic-cup edge notches
The documented IR850 example whitens the rough surface, suppresses background interference and highlights edge notches.
Dome working-distance response, uniformity and IR850 plastic-cup evidence
The optical reference and application are kept distinct: LXV-3DM198-W supplies the 0–200 mm relative-illuminance curve and two 100 × 70 mm irradiance maps; LXV-3DM116-IR850 supplies the plastic-cup arrangement, workpiece and captured edge-notch result.

Choose dome diameter, camera aperture, spectrum and exact model load together
The four standard domes share 24 V but differ in emitting diameter, aperture, depth, colour-dependent power, mass and mounting pattern. The IR850 application is a wavelength-specific example and must not be treated as the white-light optical-reference row.
The PDF specifies 0–40 °C operation and 20–85% RH without condensation; a 50,000 h reference life when luminance is reduced to 50% of the factory default; one year of free technical support and sample free-rent service; UV and IR customisation; a flexible, bend- and heat-resistant PVC extension cable for use inside equipment; and a harder, more abrasion-resistant high-flex extension cable for drag-chain production lines. Every standard drawing preserves its own 500 mm cable callout.
- 1
Map the target geometry
Confirm that hemispherical diffuse reflection covers the steepest and most reflective surfaces.
- 2
Fit the camera aperture
Keep the lens sight line clear through the exact Ø30, Ø35, Ø40 or Ø48 mm opening.
- 3
Choose size and spectrum
Select the dome envelope and test visible colour, IR or UV response on the actual workpiece.
- 4
Validate the complete image
Confirm uniformity, notch or character contrast, exposure and controller load at production distance.

Centre the camera in the dome and preserve flange, depth and cable clearance
The complete source drawing retains all four dome envelopes in one natural-ratio technical object, while the native table keeps each diameter, aperture, depth and mounting reference attached to the correct model.
- 01
Match LXV-3DM116, 175, 198 or 260 to drawing 1–4 and its own electrical row.
- 02
Centre the lens through the specified camera aperture and keep the dome axis aligned with the target.
- 03
Reserve the listed dome depth, flange, through-hole access, 500 mm lead path and connector space.
- 04
Validate uniformity, exposure, spectrum and mechanical clearance together before release.
