What inspection variables should be evaluated?
Confirm the light band reaches the actual inspection plane. Mounting parts must not block the ends or camera view.
What lighting geometry fits this inspection task?
Align the illuminated line with the camera scan line and cover the complete inspection width. Compare brightness, working distance and line width together; housing length alone is not enough. Continuous motion also needs stable triggering and speed information.
Fix line rate and exposure, compare both ends with the centre, and check moving samples for smear and banding. Cooling affects sustained operation, so repeat captures after temperature stabilises. Record speed, mounting angle and controller settings to make the setup reproducible.

Lighting a narrow inspection strip?
Check the usable line width and length at the actual working distance. A miniature housing may fit the machine while its beam does not cover the required region. Include cable and mounting clearance in the layout.
Measure brightness across the strip and at its ends. Test the darkest sample at the required exposure. Verify that small position changes do not move the inspection region outside the useful illuminated area.
